How Employees Consent to SMS Messages
Effective May 2026Employee Onboarding — Written Consent Form
During onboarding, new employees are presented with a written SMS Consent Form. The form clearly explains:
- The purpose of SMS messages (internal workplace communications only)
- Types of messages they will receive (schedules, updates, alerts)
- Message frequency (up to approximately 15/month)
- That message and data rates may apply
- How to opt out (reply STOP at any time)
- That consent is not a condition of employment
The employee signs the form and provides their mobile phone number. A copy is retained by Wear-Planted.
Phone Number Added to Messaging System
After written consent is received, the employee's phone number is added to the Wear-Planted internal messaging system by management. No employee is enrolled without a completed, signed consent form on file.
Consent forms are stored securely and retained for the duration of employment plus 12 months.
Employee Receives Confirmation Message
Upon enrollment, the employee receives a one-time confirmation SMS:
